A simple emailing software at a low price

MailerLite is one of the latest all-in-one marketing tools, especially for automation in the industry. Even though it’s new, it’s quite unique in the way you send your marketing emails to your customers. Here is my opinion on MailterLite after testing it on various campaigns.

MailerLite Overview

MailerLite is an affordable yet comprehensive email platform that can help you manage and automate all of your marketing channels. It comes with tools that help you design landing pages, pop-up subscriptions and automation. Note that MailterLite has a free plan:

Custom features allow you to hide or show the unavoidable part of your emails to your specific customers. Additionally, you can add personal information about your customers (which they provide voluntarily) so that you can approach them in a more personal way.

First steps on MailerLite

Once you sign up for MailerLite, you can’t start designing your campaign right away because you have to go through an approval process. MailerLite will ask you several questions when you sign up, and its algorithm will filter your account.

MailerLite will ask you to complete your profile when you register. This involves specifying information such as your address, industry, website, company name, subscriber list size, company size, and campaign types. This filtering is set up to ward off spammers. But due to this screening process, once you sign up, you have to wait at least 24 hours for your account to be approved.

The interface helps keep things clear and simple. The main bar itself only offers five menu options – Dashboard, Campaigns, Subscribers, Forms, and Automation. The user interface and GUI are user-friendly, allowing very smooth navigation between the different features. Everything is well organized and all features are grouped together for ease of use. I don’t feel like I’m always trying to find the information I need.

Personally, I admire the neat and elegant dashboard of MailerLite. It is designed in a minimalist way to give you a smooth experience while browsing.

Features

Now let’s move on to the features offered by MailerLite!

Email campaign

With MailerLite, you can create four different types of campaigns, such as regular campaigns, A/B split campaigns (to test different types of emails against each other), and auto-resend which can allow you to resend messages with a different subject or new content to people who didn’t open the emails the first time you sent them.

The software offers a free plan, but templates aren’t included, so you have to create your emails from scratch. I find that this is not necessarily a good strategy on their part because the people who subscribe to the free plan are generally beginners who do not always have the time or the skills to create email templates themselves.

The bright side is that the drag and drop email editor is easy to use, and you can add a wide range of content blocks, such as buttons, net promoter scores, videos, accounts countdown timers, social media posts, and more, you still have to spend some time designing the email to make it look pretty.

Once you’ve created your emails, you can use advanced segmentation to send them to certain groups of users, such as people who signed up through a particular source, the database you’ve already segmented before. You can add multiple conditions at once, which means you can ditch the batch, bulk-send approach and get personalized, super-relevant emails.

The last step is to schedule your emails. The options here are a bit limited, as you choose when to send, or if you’ve subscribed to the paid plan, you can choose to deliver according to your subscribers’ time zone. There is no option to automate the timing of sending based on past customer behavior like there is with other marketing tools like GetResponse or ActiveCampaign.

Landing Page

With MailerLite, you can create a landing page that matches the email you send to further increase conversions. You can run a number of tests to measure which strategies are most effective at increasing clicks and conversions. Therefore, MailerLite is suitable for your website, especially if you are a freelancer, blogger, or small or medium-sized business. There are many templates that you can then adapt.

The landing page editor is a relatively unique feature. This can be hosted directly by MailerLite, or on your own domain depending on your preferences. The editor has an easy-to-use drag and drop feature.

Automation

As a reminder, the marketing automation process essentially consists of creating a series of emails, the launching sequence of which depends on the logic of the rules that you specify through different stages.

Like other marketing automation software, it turns out that MailerLite also comes with a built-in editor for creating automated flows. The tool itself is designed to offer a simplified yet intuitive method of designing and managing your marketing automation. Thus, even an inexperienced user will be able to set up dynamic flows in a few minutes.
On the results analysis side, you can follow the progress of your contacts from a detailed activity report.

Pop-Ups and Survey

How to get and grow the number of subscribers these days? One way is to add a form popup feature to your website that allows visitors to easily access your website to enter their emails.

MailerLite stands out from other free email marketing platforms with pop-up and survey features that can be customized. In addition to the basic functions such as drag and drop, MailerLite also comes with a text editor that lets you adjust the format and paragraphs of the text and the built-in photo editing function.

MailerLite Pricing

Let’s talk about the price! MailerLite offers a free subscription plan for 1000 contacts with unlimited emails and their paid plan starts at $9 for unlimited emails for a month for 1000 subscribers. And they charge according to the number of your contacts with an additional cost for additional features (SitesPro, MailerPro and Dedicated IP)

SitesPro allows you to publish as many websites and landing pages as your business needs, and you’ll have unlimited access to MailerLite’s site building features to provide a more engaging user experience. MailPro, on the other hand, is MailerLite’s service for getting priority support, and a dedicated account manager for your business to help you use its service.

Finally, the dedicated IP address can improve your deliverability by isolating the reputation of the sender. The dedicated IP address is recommended if your company sends at least 50,000 emails per week. The additional costs associated with these additional services are as follows:

  • Pro Sites: €9/month
  • MailerPro: €90/month
  • Dedicated IP: €45/month
