6 tips for creating content for your blog

Creating content is essential in an Inbound Marketing strategy. Indeed, it no longer needs to be proven that it is the quality of your content that will help you rank well on search engines. In addition to bringing you traffic, a blog will allow you to prove your expertise in your field.

I know, however, that it can be difficult to create relevant content or come up with new topic ideas. This is why I suggest some reflexes to have when you create new topics for your blog and avoid being monotonous.

Only cover one topic per article

For me this is a basic rule but difficult to apply. However, it is important to focus on one subject and not deviate. When producing content, keep in mind to have content that is relevant to visitor searches. It is therefore recommended to have one page per keyword worked in order to have optimal results and ensure that Google searches for the theme on which you wish to position yourself. Finally, use a set of synonymous keywords rather than the same keyword too many times in your content to stand out better in search engine results. To help you, don’t hesitate to take a look at this article on keyword research.

Post often and regularly

There is no miracle recipe, you will not become famous overnight. You have to publish again and again before you see the results of your work. To not get discouraged, it is necessary to stick to an editorial schedule. Personally, I try to block out a few hours on Friday to publish my articles on Friday or Monday morning. Finally, if you lack inspiration, don’t hesitate to do some smart recycling by reusing your most popular and effective items.

Vary the shape of your articles

To avoid boring your visitors and falling into monotony, it is necessary to renew the style and formatting to surprise. You can vary your articles with tutorials, case studies, news, feedback, glossaries or even testimonials. There will be no shortage of ideas.
If you have a creative mind, don’t hesitate to try your hand at infographics or videos. Guaranteed success!

Include Calls to Actions

Make sure you don’t let your readers leave with nothing! Consider including Calls to actions by positioning them in strategic locations. These calls-to-actions can take the visitor to other content on the same theme or to landing pages. However, stay natural when writing your content and be subtle in how you include these elements!

Follow the 80/20 rule:

80% informative content, 20% promotional content. This is pretty much the general rule you should follow when creating content. Your visitors will not be interested in you if you only talk about your business. You can of course mention the launch of a product or participation in an event. But this type of article must really remain a minority and exceptional in your editorial strategy.

In an Inbound Marketing approach, your content must be centered around your target according to their needs and problems that you need to solve.

Boost your articles

So that your articles are read and improve your impact. It is essential to be active on social networks and to relay on your professional and/or personal accounts. Consider including sharing buttons on your article to social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Linkedin.

If you can, integrate your articles on the homepage of your site. Finally, create your weekly or monthly newsletter to retain your most engaged readers.
